Judy Coder - Duos
Change can bring unexpected opportunities. I’m having some great fun pairing up with some of my favorite colleagues for some duo appearances, which are found on my calendar.
In June I went to Nebraska for a string of performances with award-winning singer-songwriter Kerry Grombacher. Kerry is from New Orleans. We met at a WMA convention, and have been swapping gigs ever since, but this is the first time we’ve shared the stage. Hopefully we’ll collaborate on a tune or two while we’re at it. You can learn more about Kerry by visiting http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=112527 , and you can hear sound clips by visiting http://cdbaby.com/all/kgrombacher . We’re hoping to build another tour next summer.
I’m hoping to arrange a Midwest tour in 2010 with Gary Allegretto. He’s from Los Angeles, so as soon as we’ve lined up some gigs to cover the cost of his plane ticket, we’ll have him here, wailin’ away on those pipes. He’s the finest blues harp player I’ve ever heard, and he’s a real charmer, too. You can learn more about Gary by visiting http://www.myspace.com/harmonicowboy .
Tours in Europe are great fun for me. I’ve done it twice, and hope to do so again in July 2010. I love to team up with my friend George Kralik, and visit him in his home town of Prague. My previous tours were in the winter, and it was COLD. This time I’ll be counting on warmer weather. So far, we’re planning on festivals in Norway and France. I’ll take lots of pictures. I’ve loaded a few shots of my last tour in 2007 on my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/judycoder/ .
