Classical Singing

My training is in classical music, and I still enjoy exercising those vocal pipes way up high, as a lyric soprano.  I sing for weddings, for the occasional showcase with TOSCA (Topeka Opera Society and Concert Association), and for my church.  I’ve sung solos in some of my favorite oratorios, including the Poulenc Gloria, Faure Requiem and the Mozart Requiem.

Because I love writing choral music, I also love to sing it.  I have been a performing member of Topeka Festival Singers for over 20 years.  One of my very favorite memories was a few years back, when I sang in the chorus that backed up Placido Domingo in Wichita.  And a few months ago, I was invited to be a part of the All American Festival Choir, singing in the world premier recording of “America, This Is Our Moment”.
