Teaching - Historical Programs
As a professional western singer, yodeler, storyteller and educator, Judy Coder wins over audiences with her musical talent and versatility. Whether she is singing for dignitaries or providing an elementary school educational program, the result is always an audience captivated by the quality of her performance.
All programs are a blend of song of story, and are adapted to suit the presenter's audience and preferences. Touring programs for the season include the following:
"Patsy Montana: The Cowboy's Sweetheart" - Judy Coder has distinguished herself as the Patsy Montana National Yodeling Champion and Western Music Association International Yodeling Champion. This popular program is a biographical journey of song and story through the life of the first female recording artist to have a million-seller: her self-penned “I Want To Be A Cowboy’s Sweetheart”. Enjoy the music of the singing cowboys and cowgirls spanning Patsy Montana’s 60-year career, and be ready to try a little yodeling on your own!
"The Wild, Wild Women of the Wild, Wild West" - Belle Starr, Pearl Hart, Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane—enjoy their fascinating stories as Ms. Coder becomes Mickie McKay, a composite character of Judy’s creation, born on the range and raised to rope and ride with the wind.
Master classes are available upon request, covering such topics as yodeling and the business of music.
Judy's programs are available for funding through the Kansas Arts Commission's Touring Program. For further information about this and other programs, please visit their website.
